From the Artist:

Figmented Fact is a group of oil paintings, most of which had been accomplished in just the previous 18 months.  The imagery in the paintings are figments of my creativity – manifestations of unconscious articulations of shape and type.  The figments are born in the matrix of the sketchbook, in which masses of chaotic scribbles are alchemically transmuted into articulable varieties.  In a series of preparatory research, they then go by a sort of adolescent stage – a fuller development of line, sort, value and coloration. The paintings on their own characterize their closing maturation – completed, but, like all living items, ripe with prospective for further development and alter, which in the end takes position in the mind of the viewer.

Born of my lifelong fascination of the strange and great, I see these figments as residing beings – strange, otherworldly entities.  Their biomorphic shapes and forms, inexact and unsure of closing construction, counsel the ever modifying mother nature of actuality and of our perceptions thereof.  The layered, normally drippy paint, utilized as clear glazes and opaque scumbles, adds to the mutability of the scene.  Through the method of generation, the sequence has advanced organically as a result of experimentation of system and paint managing.  The paintings are supplied evocative, open up-finished titles primarily based on how I understand the piece and draw on my very own lifestyle practical experience – often encouraged by music lyrics and poetic strains – filtered by means of my individual imagination.

The sequence invites the viewer to carry his or her own perceptions to each piece and, with open up sensibilities, let the imagery to allow them practical experience their personal figmented fact.
